Bulky waste

Bulky waste is waste that is too large or heavy to fit in the container. Garden waste such as branches and tree trunks, mattresses, electrical appliances, and metal also are part of bulky waste.

To dispose of bulky waste

Take your bulky waste to the recycling center at Voltaweg 11. Open Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Bring your (digital) Avalex pass with you.

Disposing of bulky waste is usually free of charge. A fee applies for certain types of waste. You will also be charged if you visit the recycling center more than 12 times in a year. Visit the Avalex website to read more information and to check the fees.

Requesting a bulky waste pickup

Can’t you bring your bulky waste to the recycling center? You can make an appointment via the website of Avalex to request a pickup.

The Avalex website lists the rules for putting out bulky waste. You can also find information there about which types of waste Avalex collects from your home.

Reuse

Are your used furniture, appliances, and clothing still in good condition? Bring them to a recycled goods shop. It could be of good use for other people. You can also leave this in a thrift container at the recycling center at Voltaweg 11.

Many materials in your bulky waste can also be reused or recycled, such as wood and metal, and parts of electrical appliances and mattresses. By separating this waste, we can reuse many materials. That’s better for the environment.
