Below you will find some tips and rules to account for when you are going to marry in the city hall.

Events in the Markt

On your wedding day there may be other events taking place around the city hall and the Markt. To find out which, please consult the events calendar. There is always the possibility of events taking place that are not listed on the calendar.

Commodities market

Thursday is the day of the weekly market. You cannot drive or park in the Markt on that day.

Throwing rice or confetti

Throwing rice, confetti, serpentines or flower petals is forbidden around the city hall. This is to avoid the risk of slipping and to prevent pigeon nuisance. You may blow bubbles and use festive arches. Releasing balloons is prohibited in Delft.

Music during the ceremony

The city hall has sound equipment so that you can play your favourite music during the ceremony. Music may be handed in on CD or USB stick. You are advised to test your music in the city hall in advance. The wedding room also has space for lining up several musical instruments.

Wheelchairs

The city hall is accessible to wheelchair users. The Scheepensael wedding room is on ground level. Do you expect guests arriving in wheelchairs? Then make sure you report this to the municipality well in time so that this can be accounted for.

Facilities

The city hall has spacious toilets for you to use before the ceremony starts.

Pets

No pets are allowed in the city hall.
