Most educational institutions in Delft help their international students apply for student housing. Be sure to apply early.

Moving to Delft

Are you relocating from abroad and staying in the Netherlands for at least 4 months? Then you must register in person with the city within 5 days of arrival.

Are you already registered in the Netherlands, but moving to Delft? Inform the municipality of your change of address. This can be done 4 weeks before you move and no later after 5 days after you have moved. You do not have to deregister in your old municipality.

Moving out of Delft

Are you leaving the Netherlands for more than 8 months? You have to report this to the city up to 5 days before departure. The municipality will deregister you and inform other government institutions. If you forget to deregister, you may be faced with unforeseen taxes and fines.

Are you moving out of Delft to another municipality in the Netherlands? Report your change of address to your new municipality. You do not need to report it in Delft. Your new municipality will register you at your new address.
